Back in the winter of '06, I heard the following story in the radio news:
A boy was playing on a partially frozen river, when he was suddenly bit by something. The boy told the authorities it had been a large reptile, possibly 1 meter long, prompting the police to pursue the possibility that someone had gotten rid of their crocodile by dumping the poor creature in the river.
Why didn't I find this particular news story very convincing?
