Imagine you were to grab your cat, glue an empty can to its tail and then startle the poor thing. Once startled, your cat will jump away 2 meters at a speed of 1 m/s and be startled again when it lands and the can behind it makes a loud noise. This will keep happening, with the cat always jumping away 2 meters but doubling the speed every time. Assuming the cat's muscles can handle this doubling of speed forever, how fast will the cat be after travelling 5 kilometers?
Hint: Will it even get to travel that much? Keep in mind this riddle is found in the “Logic” category, not “Math”.
